CLASSES

M.A.D Studioz offers a variety of classes.

Ballet

Technique based on body alignment, proper placement and posture. Barre and center floor work are combined with choreography combinations to teach musicality, rhythm, coordination and flexibility.

Ballet provides a foundation for all other forms of dance as well as conditioning for sports and injury prevention.

Ballet is the basis for all forms of dance and in encouraged for all dancers, as well as athletes wishing to gain better body control, alignment and core strength. Ballet teaches discipline, self-control, respect and self-awareness. 

Dancing in the Street

Hiphop

Classes include warm-up and conditioning, simplified break down of each dance step, skill combinations and choreography. All moves and music are age appropriate and level specific.

Students love learning these upbeat dance steps while moving to their favorite songs. These classes promote character development and teamwork. 

Tap Shoes

Tap

Tap dance is a form of dance that uses the sounds of specialized shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion creating rhythmic beats. Students will learn about Broadway and Rhythmic tap.

Lyrical

This style of dance uses music to translate emotion into movement. Lyrical utilizes aspects of ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. Dancers are taught to use smooth transitions between movements and incorporate breath into their dance.

Jazz

As an ever-changing art form, jazz encompasses many forms of technique from contemporary to musical theater. This class focuses on flexibility, strength, turns and leaps, and jazz choreography. This class will teach personal expression and help dancers find their personal style and voice, as well as body control and awareness. Dancers will develop coordination, musicality, body placement, and performance style. 

Performing Handstand

Tumbling

This class emphasizes the importance of proper technique and strives to improve each individual's flexibility, strength, coordination, and tumbling skills from beginner to advanced. Beginning with simple, basic fundamentals such as back bends, forward and backward rolls and hand stands gradually moving into cartwheels, round offs and front and back walkovers, escalating to front and back hand springs, aerials, layouts and back tucks.

HBCU Majorette

The majorette dance style is a very unique mixture of stunting, marching, energetic fast clean movements originating from the south. It combines jazz, hip-hop, ballet, burlesque-style, cabaret, kick lines and more.

Workout

Conditioning

An exercising class that develops well-rounded and full-body physical fitness to improve the condition of the body.

Those looking to increase their strength, tone up, increase their heart rate, and generally get fitter would benefit from a conditioning class. This class is also offered as an adult class.

Step

Step dancing is a complex synchronized dancelike performance that blends African folk traditions with popular culture. Stepping involves clapping, body slapping, vocalizations, and dramatic movements.

Young Ballerinas

Creative Movement

  Our preschool program will have your little one engaged in exciting, fun activities that will help them develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.  This class will enhance their basic motor skills and improve coordination.

Toddlers will also learn physical skill development and are taught the vocabulary of dance.
